Background of the Study
Adolescents face unique reproductive health challenges, including limited access to sexual health education, high rates of unintended pregnancies, and increased vulnerability to sexually transmitted infections (STIs) (WHO, 2024). Digital health platforms, including mobile applications, social media, and telehealth services, have been increasingly utilized to provide adolescents with reliable reproductive health information and services (Ibrahim & Yusuf, 2024).
In Taraba State, where cultural and social factors often limit open discussions about adolescent reproductive health, digital health platforms offer a private and accessible means of obtaining critical information (Adepoju & Salami, 2024). However, the extent to which these platforms influence adolescent reproductive health awareness and behavior has not been fully explored. This study evaluates the role of digital health platforms in promoting adolescent reproductive health in Taraba State.
Statement of the Problem
Despite efforts to improve adolescent reproductive health, many adolescents in Taraba State continue to face barriers in accessing accurate information and healthcare services (Abubakar & Hassan, 2024). While digital health platforms have emerged as a potential solution, their effectiveness in improving adolescent reproductive health awareness and practices remains uncertain.
This study assesses the effectiveness of digital health platforms in educating adolescents about reproductive health and encouraging positive health behaviors in Taraba State.
